WHILE STOCKS LAST ALL OUR HS2 BOXES ARE BEING SUPPLIED WITH A 32GB USB DRIVE INCLUDED

To Record live TV, Pause, Rewind or use the Sky Planner you need some memory attached to your satellite box.

Most suppliers don't tell you this or provide a tiny memory card with just enough room to get these functions to work. Our boxes all come with a minimum of 8gb USB Stick or Micro SD Card so you are all set to go the minute you turn on your box.

Your new box is capable of using any of the above options to store recordings. If you already have a spare one of these at home its simple to set up.

Recording normal SD TV requires around 1gb per hour while Recording HD TV requires around 5gb per hour

External Hard Drives :-

External hard drives are getting  cheaper all the time and  they seem to double in size and half in price every year. These will vary in cost around £30 for a 500gb  (or less) and around £60 for a  1000gb (1tb or more).  If you plan to record a lot of shows or films and keep them, then an external hard drive would be right for you. Ideally you need to choose one with its own power source and of a good enough quality and speed to record 2 shows or films at once.

USB Drive / Memory Stick :-

USB sticks are a very cost effective way of getting a good amount of memory onto your satellite box. A 128gb stick can be bought for less than £30 in Argos and will allow for up to 30 hours of HD or 120 hours of SD recordings. a 64gb can be bought for around £15 in Argos giving you half.

Micro SD Card :-

Your box is also equipped with a Micro SD Card slot which can take a card up to 128gb. From Argos one of these would cost around £35 and connects discretely to your box. Any Micro SD Card from 2gb up can be used and prices can vary significantly. My favorite setup utilises  a small size SD Card (4gb or more)  to store the TV guide and the pause and rewind functions (8gb or more) and then a USB Drive to record your programs and films. This particular setup I find  is very cost effective.

An Important Message Before You Buy Memory Online :-

Many online sellers of Memory Sticks, Micro SD Cards and Hard Drives on websites which rhyme with "Fleabay" sell cheap Chinese copies for what seem like fantastic prices. At best these are usually poor quality knock offs with nothing like the storage capabilities they claim to have. At worst they could seriously damage your computer or anything else to which they are attached. The only way to test the capacity of one of these drives is to plug it into a computer and write however many gigabytes of information the drive claims to hold.

Already Know What Type of Memory you Want To Add :-

If you know what type of memory you want to add to your box just let me know at the time of ordering and I will try to have it installed in advance for you. Remember it will have an 8gb stick already but by upgrading when you place your order I can have any extra drives formatted correctly to work with your box.
